This is one of the most developed business areas. Wood processing, paper, metal and glass production industries have firm positions. After the Baltic States joined the EU, production industry began to grow intensely. Some producers invest in the Baltic States, some transferred their production capacities to the region, new production plants are being built, old plants are being expanded, etc.
Due to the strategic geographic at position between the old EU countries and the CIS states and, the nearby sea, and a well-developed transport infrastructure, this region is attractive for producers of industrial products.
Local producers are also expanding their capacity, they are searching for new markets, investing into new technologies and production. They compete with producers from other countries for a good price/quality ratio.
Experience
Accession of the new countries to the European Union (EU) accelerated manufacturing industry in the Baltic States significantly.
